Rangachari Rajalakshmi Public Charitable Trust
Rangachari Rajalakshmi Public Charitable Trust is a charitable organization founded in the year 1999 by Dr. Vijaya, in memory of her parents. The purpose of the trust is to help the downtrodden people of the village - Pillayarpatti and its surroundings.
Dr.Vijaya is a well known name in the field of medicine, in and around the district of Thanjavur, Tamilnadu. She had been in Tamilnadu Medical Services for 31 years till 1988 and was a Professor and HOD in O & G Dept, Raja Mirasuthar Hospital, Thanjavur, for 11years. She had a flair for social service from her early days and during her entire span of 85 and odd years, She had been continuously striving to serve women and children. She founded Rangachari Rajalakshmi Public Charitable Trust, and established “Dr.Vijaya Home for the aged” in the year 1999. Following the old age home, she started a school named ‘Swami Dayananda Nursery and Primary School’ in the year 2002. Both, the home and the school are situated in the village - Pillayarpatti in Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu.

This would not have been successful but the philanthraphic work extended by the public. We are grateful to our donors. The first and foremost being Dayananda Saraswathi Swamigal who donated a part of the land and encouraged us to start with this service in helping and uplifting the downtrodden people of Pillayarpatti, Thanjavur District in Tamilnadu. He also donated a lumpsum of amount towards the construction of the terminal building of the old age home.
